This is why we founded Toja. We believe that the only way to make a difference is to give clean and safe water back to the ecosystem, because water we use becomes contaminated by chemicals, faeces, bacteria, etc. and is therefore no longer useful in the environment.

The Issue

Water is the resource with the greatest foreseeable added value potential of our century, but it is increasingly under threat, it is now more urgent than ever to protect and care for this resource.

Global Water Availability

About 70% of the earth’s surface is covered in water, but 97% of it is salt water, which is unfit for human use. Of the remaining 3% of the world’s water resources, only about 1% is readily available for human consumption. _{(„How Much Water is There on Earth?“, 2020)}

Currently, 12% of the world population drinks water from unimproved and unsafe sources. More than 30% of the world population, or 2.4 billion people, lives without any form of sanitation. CO2 Emission reduction

Did you know? Boiling one litre of water on an open fire (15 °C to 100 °C) produces about 391g of CO₂. Providing clean and safe water eliminates the need to boil water for disinfection purposes and to buy water in plastic bottles. Plastic bottled water produces huge amounts of CO2 emissions from production of the bottle, to bottling, transport and disposal.
